Why these again?
Sometime in 2010 I took a crack at LPing the early 3D Sonic titles. Everything went okay but looking back there's some stuff that really sticks out. So four years later, I wanted to give these another shot, espcially since I'm running a much better PC than before and better experience with LPs. Plus SA2 now has a pretty decent PC port (but so does Heroes but eeeeeh these two will do)! Also gonna be a bit more lax on stuff for commentary and just enjoy the ride, for better or for worse.

Both games will be a 100% run. Trying to show off as much as I can (with chao stuff being left till SA2 since it improves on a lot of the mechanics). Will try to leave at least one level per video (two if they get too short) and gonna try and stick to either one or two guest commentators per video.

Sonic's big jump to 3D and first major remodeling to suit the change. Along with the usual cast of playable characters, introduced are the hub worlds, raising chao and some flair to help showcase the power of the dreamcast. The game has aged poorly and filled with bugs but you can kind of see what they had in mind when this was released. Still, would recommend this to people who are curious on how this turned out. Plus you can pick it up cheap on a steam sale so there's that too.

About the LP
Instead of doing the GC versions, I'll be using the 2004 PC port of SADX. The Steam/XBLA/PSN port of SA1 is somehow worse than a PC port from a decade ago (forced 4x3 no matter what resolution, broken cfg in the steam port, stretched 640x480). Plus certain mods that help fix this game only work with that version.

Things to Consider
As mentioned earlier, I'm using mods to help make SA1 look less ugly and a bit more playable. The more noticeable ones are the widescreen mod, some anti-alias and a no-gloss mod for most of the playable characters. Along with some small tweaking to the UI to work with the sudden bump in resolution. The only offside to this change is certain sections will look a bit zoomed in but aside from that, everything looks fine. here's a comparison between the different settings so you can get an idea on what's changed.
